DETAILED PROGRAMME
1st DAY: PALERMO:
Arrival to Palermo Airport. Accommodation and overnight at hotel in Palermo area.
2nd DAY: PALERMO – MONREALE - PALERMO
Visit of Palermo: the Vucciria, the Cathedral, the Palatine Chapel, the Quattro Canti ... In the afternoon, visit of the Cathedral of Monreale, defined the eighth World Wonder. Back to the hotel and overnight.
3rd DAY: PALERMO – ERICE - TRAPANI
Departure to Calatafimi to visit the archaeological site of Segesta. Proceed to Erice and visit the nice medieval town, set on the top of Mount San Giuliano. Accommodation and overnight at hotel in Trapani area.
4th DAY: TRAPANI - SCOPELLO - TRAPANI
Departure to Scopello, to visit the Zingaro Nature Reserve, one of the most beautiful coastlines in Italy, offering suggestive little bays and steep cliffs. Stop in San Vito Lo Capo, nice seaside town famous for its cous cous and its beach with fine sand and crystal water. Back to the hotel and overnight.
5th DAY: TRAPANI - MARSALA - PALERMO
Departure to Marsala, and visit the city. Stop in a typical winery to taste the famous wine. Visit of the small Mothia Island, ancient Phoenician colony, situated in the centre of the Stagnone Lagoon. Proceed to Selinunte, to visit the widest Archaeological Park of the Mediterranean. Accommodation and overnight at the hotel in Agrigento area.
6th DAY: PALERMO – VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES - PALERMO
Visit of the Valley of the Temples, where the rests of the ancient Akragas today represent one of the main Archaeological sites in Whole Mediterranean area, set among olive and almond trees. Afterwords, you may visit the Archaeological Museum or go to see Pirandello's native house. Departure to Palermo, accommodation at the hotel and overnight.
7th DAY: PALERMO – CEFALÚ – PALERMO
Visit of Cefalù, very nice seaside medieval town offering many cultural-historical sites to see: the Norman Cathedral, the Medieval Wash-House, the Mandralisca Museum and La Rocca. Back to Palermo and visit the Sanctuary of Saint Rosalia, on the top of Mount Pellegrino, where you will be astonished by a splendid panorama of the city. Back to the hotel and overnight.
8th DAY: PALERMO
Self transfer to Palermo Airport and departure.
